What is Artificial Intelligence?

Conversing with computers in a natural language has always been a dream for humanity.

Different people have a different opinion about artificial intelligence:

According to Webster Dictionary, it is "The ability to learn and solve problems"

According to Wikipedia, "It is the intelligence exhibited by machine or software"

Now my definition to AI is "The study and design of intelligent agent, where an intelligent agent is a system that tries to perceives its environment the way we do, study it and takes the action that maximizes its chance of success."

Why is Artifical Intelligence needed?

Just as the industrial revolution has freed up a lot of humanity from physical drudgery.AI has the potential to free up humanity from mental drudgery. It can help industries to increase their efficiency reduce the cost of production etc.

It can help humans save their time as a lot of work i.e needed to be done by us can be done by using artificial intelligence in less time. For Example, there is a lot of emails that we receive daily in which many are spam. It is needed to separate the important emails from spam emails which are done by AI in our Gmail system with the help of AI(Machine Learning).

Artificial Intelligence helps us to increase the security of the system. For Example, In our daily life, we use a fingerprint sensor or face recognition features present in our smartphones which use artifical intelligence to perform the task.

AI can reduce the probability of hacking as it can identify such type of unauthorized instruction given to our system also we can train our AI to handle this type of situation.

How does Artificial Intelligence work?

1.Thinking & Acting like Humans

It is the exciting new way to make computers think the way humans do so they have emotions in them they have the ability to think. We can call them the machine with minds in full and literal sense.
The study of how to make the computer do things which at the moments, people are better i.e it can take the required action at the time of need without any need of instruction from humans and also learn from actions that it has taken. For example, if it has taken any action and the result is not as expected then the ai need to learn from that by not performing the action that way again and need to search another way to do that.

2.Thinking & Acting Rationally

A rational agent is one that is excepted to achieve the best possible outcome to maximize the goal achievement with the given possible information or when there is uncertainty the best-expected outcome. Several greek schools have developed the various form of logic notation & rules of derivations for thoughts.

The problem with the rationally is:

1. Not all the knowledge can be expressed with logic notations.

2.Computational blowup.

Applications of AI

Nowadays applications of AI is in actual each and every field. Some of the most trending fields are Virtual assistants like Siri, Echo, Google Now and Face Recognition.
